We can think of no better legacy for our trip than to make a lasting impact upon someone else’s life. In the spirit of cycling and cycling culture we’ve decided to raise money and awareness for Project Rwanda.

Project Rwanda

Project Rwanda is committed to furthering the economic development of Rwanda through the use of bicycles as a tool for improving transportation, commerce, and tourism. The way we see it, we are cyclists helping cyclists.

Thank you,

Song mile? “Just the way you are” by billy joel. Wanna hear it loud! That was on the 8-track in jeff’s car when we started dating. I’m so proud of what you guys are doing and wish you traveling mercies!

    Hey Dan:
You are lucky that nancy & jeff won the “song mile.” Your task would have been “Life on the Road”–by the Kinks (of course). I trust you can download it at the next rest stop.
Thanks for the tip on Henri Nouwen. I just finished *Adam*–which was a help for a talk I gave recently. My reciprocal tip: W. H. Vanstone, *The Stature of Waiting.* I hope you have no red lights, few yellows, and a slew of green. Love. D

    jeff, nancy, and uncle dave–
i will be purchasing your song requests and committing them to memory in the coming days. thanks for checking out the site! be ready for a message from some mountain top indicating that your song has, in fact, been sung.

    Tumbleweed dudes,

I made what donation I could on my meager nonprofit salary, and I definitely wish to take advantage of this “song mile” offer. If you aren’t already sick of it, please spend at least a mile belting out “Bicycle Race” by Queen, for obvious reasons. If you are, in fact, tired of this glorious tune, then just go ahead and rock “We Are the Champions”– it’ll inspire you to conquer the treacherous hills.

Keep on fighting till the end,
    Anna

I knew about the song, probably originally sung by Roy Rogers or Gene Autry.

But I had NO IDEA that tumbleweeds could grow to such large sizes. Check out the internet, somewhere there is a picture of a tumbleweed about the size of a car, moving about as fast as a grizzly bear in pursuit across an interstate.

May your mobility approach that of your namesake.
